The Wakefield-based estate agent, Hodsons, has upgraded security measures for one of their landlords.
CASAC (Community Action and Support Against Crime) were contacted by Hodsons to provide the landlord with a burglary assessment on more than 80 properties. CASAC's qualified safety engineers identified vulnerable doors which could be targeted by burglars.
CASAC is an established West Yorkshire social enterprise that works with local people, the Police and other statutory agencies to improve community safety and is dedicated to reducing crime and the fear of crime.
Only 0.01% of repeat burglaries have breached the security measures fitted by CASAC Burglary Reduction. In one hotspot area, burglary has effectively been eradicated due to a targeted approach with West Yorkshire Police.
Neil Goldup, CASAC Chief Executive said: "After installing our security devices the chances of being burgled again are greatly reduced. It's this fact which deters burglars from trying to break into a property once they have seen we have made it more secure."
CASAC are encouraging homeowners in the Wakefield area to take a free Burglary Reduction security assessment. The assessment will include ensuring that all doors have 5 lever locks or break secure cylinders on UPVC doors and highlight any potential break-in access points.
