CASAC Safety engineers will assess if your property has the following:

  • A snap and break secure Euro Cylinder fitted to all uPVC and composite doors  
  • 5 lever BS3621 sashlock or deadlock fitted to your main wooden door   
  • 5 lever BS3621 sashlock and mortice bolts fitted to your other wooden doors   
  • Locking handles and a shootbolt locking system on all your uPVC windows 
  • Key operated locks fitted on all wooden windows

 

The check will include ensuring that all doors have 5 lever locks or break secure Euro Cylinders on uPVC doors, if not they will be replaced as they are unsecure. Around one-in-four burglaries in West Yorkshire involves the Euro Profile locks, which are widely used in uPVC doors, particularly older ones. Read more…


The safety engineers will assess if additional locks will also be fitted to any other external doors. Key operated window locks may need to be fitted (where appropriate) to all ground floor windows and any accessible first floor windows. Additional hardware such as products to reinforce the frame, door chains and door viewers will also be recommended if needed.
