CASAC Burglary Reduction

CASAC Burglary Reduction works closely with West Yorkshire Police to ensure that our fully qualified Safety Engineers are best placed to identify vulnerable doors and windows, which could be targeted by burglars.  This work has clearly been successful in:

Developing unique and sustainable relationships with West Yorkshire Police, with Safety Engineers wearing Police ID badges.

Evidencing significant reduction in crime, for example:
  • Burglary - Safer Leeds have identified CASAC Burglary Reduction as one of the key tools responsible for the 44% reduction in burglary over the past three years.
  • Repeat burglary - only 1% of repeat burglaries have breached the security measures fitted by CASAC Burglary Reduction. In one hotspot area, burglary has effectively been eradicated due to a targeted approach with West Yorkshire Police.

Developing specialised packages to tackle homelessness, domestic violence and hate crime in response to the national call for preventative services to be delivered to assist those experiencing violence in their homes.

96% clients stating that they feel safer as a direct result of our service.

Academic research identifying a significant reduction in fear for clients accessing our services.

All of this evidence should give you confidence to call CASAC to assess your home.

A full security assessment will be completed for each individual property by one of our Safety Engineers.  The check will include ensuring that all doors have 5 lever locks (required for insurance purposes), if not they will be replaced. Additional locks will also be fitted to all doors where required.

Key operated window locks will be fitted (where appropriate) to all ground floor windows and any accessible first floor windows. Additional hardware such as products to reinforce the frame, door chains and door viewers will also be fitted.

Please have a look at our checklist to see if you think that a visit would be useful.
