CASAC has developed a unique relationship with West Yorkshire Police; all field staff have official Police Identification Badges as evidence of this true partnership. "The CASAC Partnership was originally created by the 'Safer Leeds' CDRP several years ago as part of a response to the high number of burglaries in Leeds back in 2002. During CASACs first 5 years, burglary was reduced by over 8,000 offences (50%) and there is little doubt in my mind that CASACs contribution played a major part in achieving those excellent results. CASAC continues to provide a valuable contribution to our fight against burglary in Leeds." John Birkenshaw Crime Reduction Manager Community Safety Department and former Head of West Yorkshire Police Crime Education Unit
"CASACs innovative flair for service delivery and flexible approach has enabled them to provide an invaluable role in improving community safety, their work is a key feature in the Safer Leeds strategy in recognition of this role. CASAC has a good history of securing funding and exceeding outputs and achievements in contracts. Part of their success in working with public sector organisations is based on theability to minimise the bureaucracy in our own systems to ensure the provision of efficient and effective services. This experience has allowed CASAC to develop the financial systems they need to facilitate demands from our clients and comply with funding/contract regulations. Target Hardening is an extremely important aspect of the preventative process and is vital in the fight against repeat victimisation. The work that is carried out on behalf of West Yorkshire Police in partnership with Safer Leeds by CASAC has proved to be a success showing a continued reduction of household burglaries. I am pleased to be able to offer victims of crime this professional service. Thank You." Dave Harrison Crime Reduction Officer Pudsey/Weetwood Division
"The West Yorkshire Police are committed to working in partnership in the reduction and prevention of crime. CASAC are one of our valued partners who assist particularly in the management of burglary offences. This partnership helps us in supporting the victims of this crime with a very personal, effective service. The work of CASAC helps us to educate communities in securing homes and preventing crimes; their involvement plays an important part in sustaining burglary reduction." Chief Superintendent Geoff Dodd West Yorkshire Police
"CASAC has worked in partnership with West Yorkshire Police for over 10 years delivering effective burglary reduction services across Leeds. We use CASAC as one of the key mechanisms to reduce burglary and our investment is well spent. An important issue is that having been in receipt of the service, residents indicate that their fear of crime has reduced. As a result of their professionalism and commitment to assisting those most vulnerable, West Yorkshire Police allow CASAC to use our badges as a reflection of this true partnership. As such I have no hesitation in recommending CASAC to those wishing to reduce crime and the fear of crime." Chief Superintendent Howard Crowther West Yorkshire Police
"Having worked with CASAC Burglary Reduction for the past four years, I am certain that its target hardening service, skill and professionalism has markedly contributed to the overall reduction in burglary rates in Leeds during this period."
